Dr Ravi Marudanayagam

Dr Marudanayagam is a senior Consultant Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgeon in Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham and Birmingham Children’s Hospital, UK. His special interests include advanced laparoscopic HPB surgery, complex liver resections and management of hilar cholangiocarcinoma. He has been instrumental in developing the advanced laparoscopic HPB surgery programme in Birmingham. He is the Principal/Co-investigator in a number of European clinical trials on laparoscopic HPB surgery including ORANGE 2+, ORANGE segments, DIPLOMA and RESTORE trials. He has published over 100 articles in peer reviewed journals. He is active in training and has taught in several cadaveric laparoscopic HPB courses, nationally and internationally. He is a national Specialist Advisory Committee (SAC) member to Royal College of Surgeons, UK and a FRCS examiner. He is the UK lead for the European Minimally Invasive Pancreatic Surgery (E-MIPS) registry and member of several European and International associations including IHPBA, ILLS, E-AHPBA, GBIHPBA, AUGIS and PSGBI.
