General surgeon with an interest in paediatric surgery, Dr Basil Leodoro was the RACS Rowan Nick’s Pacific Fellow in 2012. He trained in Fiji and Christchurch before returning to Vanuatu in 2014. He has held multiple national roles including Coordinator for Vanuatu Emergency Medical Teams, NSOAP and as Academic Program Leader for the Medical Internship Training Program. As a Vanuatu based surgeon, he has also been involved in disaster and humanitarian work in Vanuatu since 2015 and is now in private practice. He is the founder of Sanma Food Revolution and Vanuatu Children’s Health Network. Currently, he serves as Director of Operations for Respond Global’s marine vessel, MV HELPR-1, a unique logistics platform for provincial missions and disaster response in Vanuatu. He questions everything and loves Manchester United FC.
