Clothing:
All outdoor gear needed for the climb based on the day’s weather conditions and the health & safety essentials will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothing in case you need to wear it under your suit for warmth. Wear comfortable, enclosed rubber-soled shoes such as running, sport or hiking shoes. PVC and leather-soled shoes are not ideal. Spare shoes and socks if there is a chance of rain. Bring your own glasses or sunglasses to wear on the day of your Climb. (No DVR (digital video recorder) glasses)

The first inaugural ASM/ASC Run for a Cause. Please pack your running shoes, set your alarm clocks and dig deep to support the Indigenous Marathon Project (IMP) at our inaugural ASM charity fun run along the Sydney Harbour foreshore. The event will cater to runners of all abilities with inter-College rivalries mostly kept at bay by our event ambassador and lead runner, 2-time Olympian, fastest ever Australian over 10km and founder of www.runcrew.com.au, Ben St Lawrence. The run will be followed by a light refuelling breakfast back at ICC Sydney where shower facilities are available to those looking to freshen up for the day. Entry is by tax-deductible donation to our charity, the Indigenous Marathon Foundation.

Sydney Fish Market is the largest market of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and the third largest seafood market in terms of variety in the world. Approximately 2,700 crates (around 50-55 tonnes) of the freshest possible seafood is auctioned each day through the computerised Dutch auction system. The incredible variety of seafood is sourced from individual fishermen, co-ops, fishing businesses and aquaculture farms in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific Region with over 100 species available to buyers daily. During the tour you will all be involved in selecting the freshest seafood which the chef will cook and prepare for your seafood breakfast banquet!

In many ways, the principles and practice of photography mirrors anaesthesia, and many anaesthetists enjoy the challenge of learning different techniques of photography. This is not so much an instructional workshop, but an opportunity for like-minded amateur photographers to shoot landscapes, sharing techniques and compositions, facilitated by Desmond Chu, a Sydney anaesthetist and passionate photographer.

Participants will be shooting reflections of the developing Sydney cityscape at dusk across Barangaroo and Darling Harbour. The shoot will aim to finish by 7:30pm with an informal dinner somewhere close by to follow and share experiences and photos. Dinner will be at an additional cost.

Sydney’s ocean pools are iconic, and spectacular at sunrise. Mahon ocean pool, Maroubra, offers many creative photographic opportunities, whether waves crashing over rock platforms, the sun rising on the horizon, or the reflective pool itself. Again not so much an instructive workshop, it is another opportunity for like-minded hobbyist photographers to share their passion at any level. We will end with breakfast in a local cafe before returning to ICC Sydney. It will be facilitated by Desmond Chu, a Sydney anaesthetist and photographer. Breakfast will be at an additional cost.

Brett Whiteley is one of Australia’s most celebrated artists. He won the Art Gallery of NSW Archibald, Wynne and Sulman prizes several times, and his artistic career was bolstered by his celebrity status in Australia and overseas. He worked across painting, sculpture and the graphic arts, and is best known for his sensual and lyrical paintings of interiors, nudes and harbour scenes. The Brett Whiteley Studio was his workplace and home.

You are offered the unique opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the space – the studio with his unfinished paintings, art equipment and collections of reference books, and the graffiti wall covered with quotes and images. The living area has memorabilia such as photographs, objects, postcards, furniture, his music collection and sketchbooks. The gallery has changing exhibitions of the artist’s works: paintings, drawings, sculpture and graphics borrowed from the Whiteley Estate, Art Gallery of New South Wales and private collections.
