Professor Todd Ponsky

Dr Todd Ponsky serves as the Chief Innovation Officer at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and as Professor of Surgery at the University of Cincinnati. Internationally recognised for his leadership in minimally invasive paediatric surgery, Dr Ponsky has pioneered techniques such as needlescopic surgery in newborns, paediatric laparoscopic hernia repair, and surgical telepresence.

 

He has authored more than 140 peer-reviewed manuscripts, three textbooks, and over 30 book chapters, and has delivered more than 250 invited lectures worldwide on paediatric surgery, innovation, and medical education.

 

Prior to joining Cincinnati Children’s in 2018, Dr Ponsky founded and led GlobalCastMD, whose StayCurrentMD platform has advanced the global dissemination of medical knowledge.

 

Dr Ponsky earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University, completed his general surgery residency at George Washington University, and his paediatric surgery fellowship at Children’s National Hospital.

 

He is a past president of the International Paediatric Endosurgical Group, a member of the American Surgical Association, and a board member of the International Society for Paediatric Innovation, reflecting his ongoing commitment to advancing surgical innovation and paediatric care.

Dr Ponsky resides in Cleveland with his wife, Diana, and their daughters — Sasha, Josie, and Ella.
